Slowdown in the Austin market

There has been a slowdown in the market lately, some of the projects that have been planned and were set to start being built have now stopped constructions.  One or two were building then they stopped construction due to funding problems.  But most of the projects are still going strong and rising high.  For some more information go to:  http://www.austintowers.net  Some of the projects are now coming to completion like the Altivida.  I find it interesting to see how much construction is actually go on in downtown, when i drove down there there were cranes  that dotted the skyline, then when i drove in, i really realized how much other construction, that doesn't require and cranes is actually going on.

Condo/Apartment market

Has the Austin condo/apartment market gone down percentage wise in the past couple months or is it still growing a little?

Downtown towers

In the past 2 years i have seen many new towers being built. I have always been interested in architecture, always wanted to be one, i guess this is where this topic comes from. I just love to watch a piece of property become a 50 story tall building in 2 years. It just really blows my mind. I can only think of how complex it is to build these gigantic structures. Back to Austin, does anyone like disaprove of new tall building being built in Downtown? I really like to see it happen it makes Austin's downtown more distinguish. I think anyways, what do you think?

Welcome to Austin Growth Blog

Welcome!

Austin Growth Blog is all about the growth of Austin, TX. Austin the past years has grown significantly and is still growing. I am very interested in the growth of the Austin area and how the area responds to the growth. I find it interesting that when things get built there are always people who don't like the plans, people who love what the plans call for and some people who don't care about the plans. Austin Growth Blog want to hear the inner voice of the people that would like to tell their story.

sincerely,

Colossal
